Where is the serial number of iRecord Music located? I need it for online registration.
---The serial No. of iRecord Music can be extracted from a file 'irecord'txt' present in iRecord Music. Attach your iRecord Music unit to a computer. The 'irecord.txt' file will be located at the root level. The serial No. of the unit is a 12 digit number given on the second line of the text file and starts with 097.
 


When powered by battery, iRecord Music does not record to an iPod or a USB flash drive?
---To record to an external USB device such as an iPhone, iPod, USB flash drive, iRecord Music must be powered by an external power adapter. The battery cap is used to power iRecord Music to record /playback from the local 2GB storage. 


How long iRecord Music takes to detect external storage media?

---It depends on type and size of storage media, typically iRecord Music can take 2 to 30 seconds to detect the USB storage media.
 

I have just bought a USB flash drive. Why is it not recognized by iRecord Music?
---Please format the new flash drive using a PC/Mac (FAT16/32 or HFS+ file system). Some factory formatted USB flash drives do not behave properly with iRecord Music and a re-formatting is recommended. If your storage media is still not recognized, it might not be a standard USB 2.0 mass storage device.

Which audio format iRecord Music supports?

---iRecord Music records audio in MP3 format at 192 Kbps bit-rate by default. 


Can I use iRecord Music to record audio in other formats?
---Yes, you can use iRecord Music Desktop utility to configure to record in desired audio format such as AAC, WAV and FLAC.


Can I adjust audio bit rates for MP3 recordings?
---Yes, you can use iRecord Desktop utility to configure audio bit rates for MP3 recordings.


Can I use iRecord Music to digitize my old LPs and cassettes?
---Yes, you can use iRecord Music to digitize your old LPs and cassettes.  

I want to record an audio in a single file, but iRecord Music is creating multiple files. Can I force iRecord Music to stop splitting the files?
---Yes, you can use iRecord Music desktop utility to disable automatic track splitting feature.


Can I record music to Creative Zen, SanDisk Sansa or other MTP-based (Media Transfer Protocol) MP3 players.
---Yes, iRecord Music supports MTP devices as well as USB mass storage based mp3 players.


I am recording from a cassette player. Will iRecord Music automatically split file when a new track begins?
---Yes, iRecord Music automatically detects a silence interval between two songs and starts recording to a new file. Hence, different songs are recorded to different files (automatic track splitting).


iRecord Music is not splitting the audio tracks when I record from my cassette player. What might be the reason?
---iRecord Music detects the silence interval between two songs to split the track. For some old cassettes the player may output a hissing sound (noise) in the interval between two tracks. You will have to adjust sensitivity of iRecord Music to the silence interval. iRecord Music Desktop utility provides you with an easy way to adjust silence threshold.


My cassette player has a headphone output jack only. Can I use it with iRecord Music?
---Yes, you can use it with iRecord Music. However, you may have to adjust the 3-position slider switch to an appropriate position to record at a suitable level. For further details please see the iRecord Music user manual.


What is the audio signal level required by iRecord Music?
---iRecord Music supports sources with varying output (0.3 Volt rms to 2 Volt rms). A higher signal level may cause distortion in the recorded audio. In extreme case it can damage the unit as well. PLEASE DO NOT CONNECT AMPLIFIER OUTPUT TO iRECORD MUSIC.

Does iRecord Music support Mac formatted iPods?
---Yes, iRecord Music supports Mac, as well as Windows formatted iPods.


What if my iPod runs out of charge while connected to iRecord Music?
--- This will not happen, since iRecord Music while powered by a power adapter also charges your iPod while connected.


What if iRecord Music does not detect my iPod?
---You can try the following: 1. Remove and Re-Insert your iPod 2. Power down iRecord Music, wait for 10 seconds and then Power up again; 3. Reset iPod.


I have recorded a song to my iPod. It appears as iRecord_xx/xx/xx xx:xx in the iPod playlist. How can I rename or delete this song?
---You can attach your iPod to your PC/Mac and look under DEVICES (not the local library) in iTunes to browse your iPod contents. From there you can delete/rename the recorded files. There are a number of ways, including the following: 1. To rename a file right-click on it in the list and select Get Info in the popup menu. A dialog will pop-up, from here you can change the file name in the info tab. 2. To delete a file, simply select the file and press Delete key.

Which iTunes versions are supported by iRecord?
---iRecord supports following versions of iTunes: iTunes 5, iTunes 6, iTunes 7, iTunes 8, and iTunes 9. In order to directly record to iPod via iRecord Music, your iPod must be synchronized with any of the above iTunes version. Support for newer versions of iTunes will be provided via firmware upgrades. Always check firmware upgrades section of the website to make sure that you have latest firmware running on iRecord Music.

iRecord Desktop for iRecord Music is not working with my PowerPC Mac Laptop, whereas it does work with my Intel Macbook?

PSP


I have connected my PSP to iRecord Music, but iRecord is not recognizing it. The status LED does not turn green?
---Make sure that there is a Memory StickTM inserted into PSP. From the Settings menu of PSP select USB connection option before attaching PSP to iRecord.
