Streaming Networks Extends the Functionality of Its iRecord® Personal Media Recorder

iRecord®- now supports Microsoft Transfer Protocol audio recording

SAN JOSE, California - October 2, 2007 - Streaming Networks today announced support of Microsoft's Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) for its iRecord® Personal Media Recorder. iRecord allows any user to store their music and video content on their iPod®, iPhone® (via iTunes), Sony PSP®, and many other USB-based portable devices.

iRecord uses H.264 video encoding technology, which combines high picture quality with smaller files sizes. iRecord can store up to three (3) hours of video in as little as 1 GB of storage. MP3 and AAC encoding are supported for audio recording.

iRecord records analog audio from many sources including DVD, CD, LP and cassette players and internet radio devices. "The iRecord platform is based on Streaming Network's patented technology and provides a sophisticated yet simple-to-use solution for consumers to enjoy video and audio contents on the device of their choice," said Dr. Ayub Khan, CEO of Streaming Networks.

Support of MTP for audio recording enhances the capabilities of iRecord. In addition to USB mass storage devices and corresponding MP3 players, iRecord can now directly record MP3 audio to MTP devices. This enables iRecord to support more portable media players such as SanDisk Sansa® (e220, e240, e280), Toshiba Gigabeat® S, and the Creative Zen® Vision.

MTP support is a firmware upgrade for the iRecord and is available to all users, free of charge, from the company's website at www.irecord.com.

Pricing and Availability

The iRecord Personal Media Recorder has an M.S.R.P. of US $199 and is on sale now through selected Catalog Merchants and online retailers. End Users may visit the company's website www.irecord.com for information on where to buy the device.
